今作の舞台は関東にある某地方都市のベッドタウン。そこで暮らす高校生の風間竜二（岩﨑大昇）、瀬名悟（佐藤龍我）、柴山道史（那須雄登）、春日篤（浮所飛貴）、山田明彦（藤井直樹）、山田和彦（金指一世）らが、ある日終戦間際の大宮島（現在のグアム島）からタイムスリップしてきた軍人・三平三平（みひら・さんぺい）と出会うところから物語はスタートします。 戦時中の人間《三平》から見た現代の日本と若者《竜二、悟、道史、篤、明彦、和彦》たち――何かと不自由だった時代から来た三平の目には、現代の日本はどんな世界に映るのでしょうか？　自由を謳歌しているつもりでいる現代人。だけども、本当の意味で“自由”を手にしているのはいったいどちらなのでしょうか？ それぞれに事情を抱えた高校生たちと、彼らと行動を共にする1人の軍人を通し、本当の幸せ、本当の自由とは何かを世の中に問いかけます...。Actor and martial artist Frank Grillo explores and experiences the diverse fighting techniques found in cultures around the world.。The film is based loosely around events in December 1995 that culminated in the murders of three drug dealers in Rettendon, Essex, UK.
