故事的开端可以追溯到数十年前，一位寡妇在临终时将一对双胞胎交托给了两姊妹。其中一个兄长随着养母移居南洋的一座荒岛，改名为尚人，而另一个弟弟则被带到了香港，取名为毛建树。兄弟俩之间由此断绝了联系。尚人在富裕家庭中长大，但在岛上缺乏娱乐活动，加上养母临终前透露了身世之谜，他心生疑惑。然而，由于要守孝，他无法离开岛屿一步，于是委托了身边的查理斯去寻找他的弟弟毛建树的下落。 而毛建树在香港已经成家立业，但他的妻子欧嘉丽事业心很强，却始终未能如他所愿地生育儿子或女儿。当查理斯找到毛建树时，他劝说他趁机改变家庭现状，前往南洋与自己的兄弟会面。兄弟俩的会面令他们欣喜若狂，并萌生了一个想法，那就是调换身份，以互相体验对方的生活方式。于是尚人回到了香港，试图适应建树的生活，而建树则去了南洋。然而，尚人在香港的生活并不顺利，他试图对抗嘉丽，结果引发了一系列的争斗。而建树...。Valentina dreams of being a trapeze artist and believes that because she is Down she will not be able to achieve it, but her grandmother assures her that, if the caterpillars manage to turn into butterflies, nothing is impossible.。Greece, in the 1920's, is occupied by the Turks. The country is in turmoil with entire villages uprooted. The site of the movie is a Greek village that conducts a passion play each year. The leading citizens of the town, under the auspices of the Patriarch, choose those that will play the parts in the Passion. A stuttering shepherd is chosen to play Jesus. The town butcher (who wanted to be Jesus) is chosen as Judas. The town prostitute is chosen as Mary Magdalene. The rest of the disciples are also chosen. As the movie unfolds, the Passion Play becomes a reality. A group of villagers, uprooted by the war and impoverished, arrive at the village led by their priest. The wealthier citizens of the town want nothing with these people and manipulate a massacre. In the context of the 1920's each of the characters plays out their biblical role in actuality.。
