该剧讲述民国初年上海滩豪门家族深宅里，于家三兄妹和两代族人之间的爱恨情仇的故事。。何家三个儿子，老大在机关做出纳，老二经营一家中型公司，老三从小最受宠，所以到现在仍没有定性，工作三天打鱼两天晒网。家里一个婆婆三个媳妇平日里就在为各种鸡毛蒜皮的事斗智斗勇。公公临终前把一间老房子留给一事无成的老三，不想却让战火升级。600万的拆迁费该归谁，兄弟不好撕破脸，女人们可不怕。刚巧老二离婚又再婚，何家多出一个新妯娌。家里的女人们都有非争不可的苦衷，于是在方寸之家，也用上了三国之谋。但妯娌们在经历了各种矛盾和风雨后，还是回到了婆婆身边，她们发现，人生中最重要的不是钱、房子，而是亲情。。Guy Maddin writes, "Tscherkassky has made two films cannibalizing Sidney J.
