该影片讲述了这样一位，原本身为高级保镖的赵风雷，因在执行一次任务中意外失败而丧失希望。在居住在柬埔寨的期间内，对农场主和他的女儿产生了如同亲人般的感情。故事由此产生。本片从主题立意上，以特殊的亲情出发，以陌生人之间在异国他乡并肩作战为主线，从这样一种不计回报的情感中，升华出人类情感最动人的部分，编织出一段美丽的故事。其实每个人都有他的特殊保镖，无论身在何处，都会为了保护那个人，变成超人。除此之外，本片还从不一样的角度，阐述了如今国际境遇的不安，并在剧情中传递出祖国是如今世界上最安全的国家这一信息，其真正的意义也是告诉所有人，祖国也是我们每一个人的特殊保镖……。由导演同名短片拓展而来，入围2019年圣塞巴斯蒂安电影节新导演竞赛单元。 On her graduation day, Charlotte learns her first love has returned to her small Georgia town for the first time since vanishing the year before, in the midst of an awful trauma in her life.
