今作の舞台は関東にある某地方都市のベッドタウン。そこで暮らす高校生の風間竜二（岩﨑大昇）、瀬名悟（佐藤龍我）、柴山道史（那須雄登）、春日篤（浮所飛貴）、山田明彦（藤井直樹）、山田和彦（金指一世）らが、ある日終戦間際の大宮島（現在のグアム島）からタイムスリップしてきた軍人・三平三平（みひら・さんぺい）と出会うところから物語はスタートします。 戦時中の人間《三平》から見た現代の日本と若者《竜二、悟、道史、篤、明彦、和彦》たち――何かと不自由だった時代から来た三平の目には、現代の日本はどんな世界に映るのでしょうか？　自由を謳歌しているつもりでいる現代人。だけども、本当の意味で“自由”を手にしているのはいったいどちらなのでしょうか？ それぞれに事情を抱えた高校生たちと、彼らと行動を共にする1人の軍人を通し、本当の幸せ、本当の自由とは何かを世の中に問いかけます...。Cultural and intergenerational trauma erupt in this story about two sisters on the outskirts of Paris.
