某朝某代，盛世繁华，国泰民安，世人皆赞小皇帝英明睿智。但事实上，小皇帝尚未亲政，大权把握在太后和宰辅手中。对朝政不感兴趣的小皇帝一心想出宫游历，并对经营勾栏瓦舍、延揽江湖艺人、开办戏院十分痴迷。一日，小皇帝发现一条宫中密道，悄摸溜出，谁料密道尽头竟是一家关张多年的瓦舍。小皇帝偶遇盘下瓦舍的女伶白小青，从此便隐瞒身份在此瓦舍中与一群各具特色的奇葩艺人展开了一段啼笑皆非的茶楼经营趣事……。Set in 1989, Jake (Harmon), an out-of-work photojournalist who struggles with addiction and a troubled past, takes a job as watchman of a wilderness lodge on a remote island in the Pacific Northwest, alongside veteran handyman Sparky (Granger). Jake sets up a darkroom to develop the photos he shoots, which begin to reveal disturbing premonitions of their future.。
